Bellevue Hospital

Oldest hospital gets new identity.

CLIENT:

Bellevue/ SMHN

The South Manhattan Healthcare Network of New York City is comprised of four hospital facilities, eight clinics and one school-based program. The most well known facility in this network is the Bellevue Hospital Center, America's oldest public hospital.

Flat partner, Petter Ringbom in collaboration with designer Agnieszka Gasparska developed the new identity for the SMHN. The central challenge of the project was to create a design system that could grow with the continuous expansion of the organization. The new logo for the South Manhattan Healthcare Network is actually a modular identity system that is being used for an expanding network of hospitals. The style guide developed addresses everything from hospital print collateral to employee clothing and vehicles.
